STOPPING FOOD WASTE STARTS BY KNOCKING NEXT DOOR

1/3 OF ALL FOOD PRODUCED IS WASTED EACH YEAR.

Let’s face it. We’re wasting 2.5 billion tons of food each year and this is expected to rise by another third by 2030. We tend to ignore this but 70% of this waste is coming from households (Us).

Whilst 829 million people (more than 12 times the UK population) currently suffer from malnutrition, and as we’re getting more and more on earth; it’s our responsibility to rethink the way we consume.

Let’s go back to a sharing-economy so we can protect our resources, our environment and lives.

To be able to share, we need trust and an easy way of doing so.

SHARING AND TRUST TO STOP FOOD WASTE

Food Next Door's goal is to stop food waste.

This starts in your neighbourhood.

We’re committed to connect up all close neighbours in an accessible, free and easy digital space, so everyone can share food that would typically end up as waste.

Closeness and trust are the two keys to end food waste.

So let’s open doors; it’s easy!

FOOD NEXT DOOR FOR CLOSE NEIGHBOURS TO STOP FOOD WASTE

Today Food Next Door (FND) has reconnected neighbours in 30 neighbourhoods in London and Paris and has provided them with a space for food sharing. We started with WhatsApp groups and today it’s  300 members  that are reducing food waste.

To give you an idea, with 40 neighbours living in the same building all part of their FND community, it’s on average  26 food items that are shared and saved from waste every month.

We can help you and your neighbours share food and stop food waste as well.

“I love being part of  Food Next Door!

It’s such a help sharing fresh food I can’t quite finish and knowing we can all ask for small amounts of ingredients we don’t have!

It’s not overused and it creates a lovely sense of community having a friendly bunch of neighbours to message if needed.”
